Your search begins with access to the Venus donor database. Profiles are designed to give you a fuller understanding of each donor before you express interest. Once you identify someone you would like to consider, Venus contacts the donor to confirm that she is still available and willing to consider the match.
If both sides wish to proceed, Venus begins preparing the case for the next stage. We gather the information needed for coordination with your fertility clinic and determine what screening requirements still need to be completed. A donor is not considered medically cleared until the fertility clinic has completed its own review.
GOOD TO KNOW
A match and a medical clearance are not the same thing. A donor may be selected and accept a match before completing the clinic’s required evaluation. The fertility clinic independently determines whether she is medically eligible to proceed with treatment.

Consider the Relationship Beyond the Cycle
A donor relationship does not always end with retrieval. Some intended parents hope for greater openness over time. Others prefer a more private arrangement. Donors may also have their own preferences regarding future communication and the type of relationship they are comfortable maintaining. Venus includes each donor’s stated relationship preferences within her profile so intended parents can consider compatibility before moving forward. These preferences may include private, semi-open, or open communication. Thinking about this early can help avoid conflicting expectations later. Intended parents should consider what level of future contact feels appropriate for their family and whether that aligns with the donor they are considering. Relationship preferences reflect the donor’s current wishes and are not a guarantee of future contact. Any legally binding terms regarding communication, disclosure, or future involvement should be addressed through the parties’ independent legal counsel.
